Cheltenham Children’s Choir

We are an open-to-all children’s community choir, welcoming all young people who love to sing! From the moment the children walk through the door we aim for them to feel happy, welcomed and at ease, whether you are an old friend or a newcomer.

Whilst singing together, our goals are to help children understand a little more about music, build confidence, offer performance opportunities and most of all, have fun!

Cheltenham Children’s Choir is split into three choirs. Little Lyrics (5-8 year olds), Vocalise (8-11 year olds) and Harmonise (11-14 year olds). We also offer singing lessons to our members. We are returning to Naunton Park Primary School on Saturday, 24th April 2021.

We hope you find everything you are looking for here. If not, please don’t hesitate to get in touch using the ‘contact’ button below.

The Children’s Choir is back with a bang! We are returning to the stage on Saturday, 19th June 2021 at The Bacon Theatre, Cheltenham, to record our very first streamed concert. Not only that, we are joining forces with the wonderful recently formed adult community choir, Musicality, to create a fantastic Choir Showcase. Return to Naunton Park

We have all been super patient and it has been a long time coming, but our return to face-to-face rehearsals is now just around the corner and we are jumping with excitement! Cheltenham Children’s Choir are returning to in-person rehearsals at a temporary venue, Naunton Park School, on Saturday 24th April. We lots of careful planning to do, to put all our processes in place and make sure everyone returns safely, but oh my, we can’t wait to sing together again!

Music and Drama Education Award

Our founder and choir leader, Amber, was nominated by choir parents for the ‘Francesca Hanley Inspiration Award’, as part of The Music and Drama Education Awards. These national awards were held virtually on 24th March and we all had lots of fun watching the show, hosted by Alexander Armstrong (wow!). Amber didn’t win this time, but it was more than enough to be nominated and surrounded by the most inspirational and wonderful music and drama teachers in the business!

Singers’ Stories

My little girl has been singing every Saturday with Cheltenham Children’s Choir since Amber set it up. She loves it! She has made new friends and grown in confidence. She has had the chance to have fun, enjoy music, perform and be part of the committee! Amber has been a kind, supportive teacher all the way. [See more]

A VOCALISE PARENT

My son loves being part of Cheltenham Children’s Choir (Harmonise). He has been a member since Amber started the choir and since joining his love of singing and music has grown enormously thanks to Amber’s wonderful encouragement and support. Amber is a fantastic teacher and choir leader with an enthusiasm that is infectious – the emphasis in choir is on having fun and Saturday mornings are the highlight of my son’s week. [See more]
